About
Refurbiz Limited

Working
within the forthcoming requirements of the Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation, Refurbiz has
been established to develop a central facility for the
collection, sorting, refurbishment and recycling of WEEE.
Reusable appliances are distributed through its member
charities and directly to the disadvantaged and those on low
income in Wiltshire.
Refurbiz
has been incorporated as a company limited by guarantee and
is registered with the Charity Commission. Its initial
subscribers were four furniture recycling charities and the
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust. |

Performance
& Future
Refurbiz
has grown more than 300% over the last 18 months and is now
supplying at a rate of 2,000 appliances per year to the
disadvantaged in Wiltshire. In addition, Refurbiz
reuses 140 tonnes of donated and discarded appliances per
year that would otherwise be scrapped.
The
long term aim of Refurbiz is to create a financially,
environmentally and socially sustainable operation. To
achieve this, while controlling the financial risks, it is
following a multi-phase development strategy. |
